As a not for profit organisation with charitable status, we focus on bringing the best quality care to life.
We are Extra Care because, not only do we care for some of the most vulnerable people in our society, we also help to make their voices heard when decisions about resources are being made.
We go further and we care more.
That’s what has enabled us to grow over the last 80 years to become Northern Ireland’s largest domiciliary care provider. Today, we are a 400 strong team, trusted by Trusts across the Province to deliver the best quality care, 24/7.
We’ve grown because we are vibrant and modern. We are always ready to listen and to improve, to evolve in line with need, while always keeping our service users at the heart of everything we do.
What really sets us apart is our commitment to being a good employer.
Because we understand that it’s only by looking after our people that we can meet our commitments to our service users.
So we go further and do more to make sure our people are confident and comfortable in their roles and ready for further development opportunities – should they want them.
We recruit in the areas in which we work. We provide extensive training that begins with a 3 day induction at our modern Antrim offices where we have fully equipped training rooms. We insist that new care workers shadow their experienced colleagues to gain invaluable experience and insight.
We must be doing something right because our people tell us they like to work for us.
We’ve just been re-accredited as Investors in People, a status we’ve held since 2012 and recognition of our commitment to supporting and developing our people.
