Staff from Northern Ireland’s oldest domiciliary care charity, Extra Care, have just celebrated this year’s Long Service Awards at an intimate private ceremony. The event took place in style, and marked the hard work and service provided by long standing Care Workers over the last number of years. This year staff celebrated significant milestones of 10, 15, 20 and 25 years’ service. Longstanding Extra Care employee Joanne McCabe, whose service area is Newry, has clocked over 10 years of experience as a Care Worker and was celebrated for her time at the awards.

Joined by special guest Pamela Ballantine, a luxurious afternoon tea was served for the Care Workers, esteemed Trustee Members and Management Staff. The staff in attendance at the event have provided an extraordinary combined service of 125 years!

Chief Executive of Extra Care, Brian Hutchinson said, “We are fortunate to have so many dedicated, Extra Care staff. They are reliable, hard-working, passionate and provide continuing peace of mind for our Service Users, their family members and loved ones. The awards are a small token of our appreciation to mark the number of years these Care Workers have given, not to mention the amount of people they have helped and continue to help in their own homes.”

Extra Care provide domiciliary care, specialist services such as night run services and APD (Assisted Peritoneal Dialysis) across Northern Ireland including, Ballymena, Cookstown, Antrim, Magherafelt, Lisburn, Newtownabbey, Whitehead, Ballyclare, Carrickfergus, Larne, Newry and Belfast.
